Taki Rua Productions is a national, kaupapa Māori performing arts organisation based in Pōneke.
We produce, commission and develop theatre works through a distinctively Māori lens, while advocating for the wider industry.

Taki Rua Productions is calling for actors to join our 2026 touring shows.
We’re casting for two upcoming national tours:
Te Reo Māori Season – rehearsing July 2026, touring August–September 2026
Tatarakihi Season – rehearsing September 2026, touring October–November 2026
We’re looking for highly skilled actors with strong Te Reo Māori who thrive on performing for tamariki audiences. Touring across Aotearoa, you’ll perform up to two shows a day, bringing powerful, entertaining stories to kura and communities around the motu.
A full, clean driver’s licence is highly desirable, as is confidence in collaborative and physical performance environments.
Auditions will be group-based and facilitated by directors Regan Taylor and Anapela Polataivao.
Audition Date: Saturday 21 February 2026
Location: Te Haukāinga, Taki Rua Theatre, Wellington

TAHI New Zealand Festival of Solo Performance is excited to announce Creative Residencies for Solo Theatre-Makers in 2026.
TAHI Festival has two Creative Residencies for Solo Theatre-Makers available in 2026. We are offering a range of support for:

A Māori theatre-maker, in partnership with Taki Rua.

A Queer & LGBTQIA+ Creative, in partnership with BATS Theatre (This residency is open to artists who self-identify as queer, takatāpui, fa’afafine, fakaleiti/leiti, or part of the LGBTQIA+ communities.
